How to Order Cast Iron Radiators

Step by Step Guide on How to Order Your Perfect Radiator

The Cast Iron Radiator Centre are more than happy to assist you with your purchase. You can call us to find out what things are required to install your new radiators, or alternatively you can follow our simple guide below:

  1. Identify what the heat requirement is for each radiator

This part is very important, but equally is easy to do using our BTU calculator on the top of this page. In order to get the correct heat output required for each radiator you purchase, we have designed a comprehensive BTU Calculator which is easy and quick to use. Simply point and click the details requested on the form and the BTU and Watts needed, will be shown.

Make sure you don’t under estimate the heat output you need. You can always control the heat back from your radiators using the correct thermostatic valve, but you can’t increase the output.

  2. Choose the design of cast iron radiators you like

Browse through all the styles we can offer using either the Rads & add-ons page or individual cast iron radiators pages.

  3. Choose your paint finish

Choose from our range of Period & Contemporary spray painted colours and primer only finish.

  4. You will need to choose your valves

All our radiators come tested & sealed, but you will need main radiator valves in order to fit and operate each radiator. Browse our extensive range of manual and Thermostatic radiator valves which are all ½” Bsp to match our cast iron radiators. We offer a great range of styles and finishes to suit all tastes.

  5. Add your accessories

Don’t forget the finishing touches such as matching pipe shrouds for your valves. We offer a great range of solid tube (not cheap plastic) shrouds in various finishes to match the valves you have chosen.

Although all our radiators come free standing with their own feet sections fitted, it is important to ensure that the cast radiator is secured to the wall to protect your pipe work when fitted.

  6. Deliveries & collections

Now you have ordered everything you need, we will start to prepare the order ready for dispatch or collection. When your order is ready, we will call you or email you, to let you know.

If you are collecting, then we will request a little notice (an hour or two) prior to your arrival.

If we are delivering your order, we will let you know and once dispatched, our National delivery partner will then take over. Usually, we use a ‘Book In’ pallet kerb side service. This means that the delivery company will also make contact to arrange delivery with you directly once we have shipped your order. You can request alternative delivery services which may incurr a surcharge, but please call to discuss before ordering so that we can make sure we can meet your requirements.

  7. Dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s

At checkout, please make sure you provide the correct address, best contact number for us and the delivery company to be able to call you (a mobile with voicemail preferably) and any additional instructions we will need to know about such as restrictions on access etc.
