What is a column radiator?
Developed in the mid-19th century, column radiators are characterised by their series of vertical tubes or “columns” grouped side‑by‑side. This design not only creates a distinct visual appearance but also boosts the surface area for heat output, delivering a stronger heating performance compared to standard radiators.
Are cast iron column radiators efficient?
Our column radiators are made from cast iron. Their high thermal mass means they warm up a bit slower than aluminium or steel radiators; however they also cool down a lot slower and continue to release heat long after turned off. This gives a more even, stable warming and improved comfort.
What colour column radiators are available?
Our column radiators are all available in satin black, matt black, gun metal grey, cream white and antique bronze finish.
How long will a column radiator last?
When installed correctly and maintained, our cast iron column radiators can last for generations. Robust construction and timeless appeal make them one of the most durable choices in heating.
